Akita Japanese Language Institute was founded as a Japanese language education institution of Ito Gakuen, an education corporation located in Akita Prefecture. Together with the historic Ito Gakuen Information Business College and Social Welfare College, Akita Japanese Language Institute provides Japanese language education to international students and supports their futures.
In addition, we have a men's dormitory and a women's dormitory within walking distance so that international students can live in Japan with peace of mind, and we have created an environment where students can concentrate on their studies at ease through our dormitory life guidance and support. With our academic and lifestyle support, students can focus on their studies and advance toward their goals.

History of Ito Gakuen
In 1943, educational corporation Ito Gakuen established its private Akita Clothing Restoration Practical Research Institute in Akita City under the three principles of "creation, etiquette, and cheerfulness" as the basis of education. In 1951, it became the first institution in Akita Prefecture (competent authority: Governor of Akita Prefecture) to be recognized as an educational corporation.
It has played an active role in the fields of fashion education, early childhood education, information education, and welfare education for approximately 70 years.
The number of graduates from educational corporation Ito Gakuen exceeds 22,000, and they are widely active in various fields such as fashion, information business, and medical welfare.
Students are currently studying at both Akita Information Business College, which focuses on IT and business, and Akita Social Welfare College, which trains welfare professionals.
